Please join our President, Representative Gilda Cobb-Hunter (SC) in congratulating the 60th Mayor of Dallas, Texas, former State Representative and, NBCSL member Eric Johnson.

Summing up his historic victory, Mayor Eric Johnson stated, Yesterday, with my best friend and wife, Nikki, by my side, I was sworn in as the 60th elected Mayor of the City of Dallas. I am honored, beyond all possible description, to serve as Mayor of the city in which I was born and raised.”

I am looking forward to accomplishing great things for our city with our new Dallas City Council.

During my inaugural address, I announced my intention to institutionalize civility and a culture of respect at City Hall, eradicate corruption in all its forms, develop a workforce that is recognized as one of the most skilled in the nation, increase the use of data to foster greater innovation, and ensure Dallas remains one of the safest large cities in America.

I have no doubt we will fulfill this ambitious vision over the next four years and make Dallas an even greater city.
