NBCSL Pays Tribute to Chadwick Boseman

NBCSL Pays Tribute to Actor Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman is gone. The reality of that fact is slowly sinking in and the sadness of a life gone too soon is almost unbearable. NBCSL joins with Chadwick’s family, admirers, fans and supporters around the world In grieving this tremendous loss.

A native of Anderson, South Carolina, Chadwick never forgot where he came from. His generosity of spirit, humility and commitment to his craft was legend and even more remarkable with the knowledge that he worked for the past four years with colon cancer. A super hero indeed!

Chadwick Boseman has run his race but in his passing is a lesson for those of us still here: the importance of screening for colorectal cancer. Colorectal Cancer is 97% preventable with proper screening and NBCSL has adopted resolutions in the past highlighting its importance.

Colorectal cancer is another example of health disparities in the black community that we can do something about. Chad’s untimely death reinforces NBCSL’s commitment to do all that we can to make sure access to colorectal screenings is made available to those who need them.

Yes, Chadwick Boseman is gone but the trail he blazed and the legacy he left is still here. It is up to us to follow the path and make the kind of difference he did during his time on earth. Farewell King.

Rest in Power, Wakanda Forever!
