California SB673

The Ebony Alert addresses the pervasive issue of missing African American women and children by creating a specific emergency notification system similar to the AMBER Alert. The Ebony Alert would provide law enforcement with an additional tool to disseminate timely, accurate information with the public and the media to more effectively assist with locating missing Black Youth and young women. In California, the Ebony Alert was introduced as Senate Bill 673 and was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom into law this October 2023.
