Prohibiting Certain Treatment of Pregnant and Immediate Postpartum Female Inmates

This law prohibits the use of restraints on pregnant inmates and those in the immediate six-week postpartum period except in extraordinary circumstances. It requires pregnancy testing during intake screening, prohibits invasive searches of pregnant women unless medically necessary, and establishes protections for maternal health in correctional settings.
