NBCSL collects and shares some of the nation’s best public policy practices with its members. As a catalyst for public policy innovation and information exchange among African American state legislators and their staffs, NBCSL works daily to ensure that its members are up to date on the nation’s most pressing issues and ready to address them in their respective statehouses.

As an organization that assists policymakers, NBCSL offers a variety of resources for member and public use. From model state legislation and analyses of state issues to NBCSL’s policy resolution process and policy committees, we ensure our members and their constituents are apprised of trends in the state and federal legislative spheres.
