The Alabama Legislative Black Caucus Announces Joint Press Conference Regarding the Mass Shooting in Dadeville, Alabama on April 15, 2023

MONTGOMERY, AL- The Alabama Legislative Black Caucus has announced a joint press conference with the National Black Caucus of State Legislators and Alabama House and Senate Democrats to be held at Integrity Funeral Home, 1101 Brooklane Drive, Hueytown, AL 35023 tomorrow, April 17th at 11AM CST to discuss the mass shooting that recently occurred in Dadeville, AL.

The press conference will focus on the crisis of gun violence in Alabama and across the United States. Lawmakers will discuss legislative efforts to curb the increase in suicides, homicides, and mass shootings affecting our communities, including recent events in Dadeville, Nashville, and across our region.
Legislators will discuss their efforts regarding background checks! repealing permit Jess concealed carry. “red flag laws”, and banning assault weapons and illegal gun modifications.

The following are expected to speak and will be joined by their legislative colleagues: Senator Merika Coleman (D-Jefferson) who serves as Chair of the Alabama Black Legislative Caucus; Representative Laura Hall (D-Madison} who serves as President of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators; and Representative Juandalynn Givan (D-Jefferson) who serves as President of the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women.
