The twenty-one students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the Dominican Republic traveled and studied at the Pontificia Universidad Catholica Madre y Maestra through NBCSL’s International Technical Assistance Center (ITAC).

- NBCSL hosts reception “A Salute to African American Elected Officials” in Boston, Massachusetts at the Museum of African American History. The museum was the site where one of the first African American regiments to fight in the Civil War first met.
